This was the only flag of its kind, made by the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Mr. Bennett, a community activist and associate of Dr. King, approached James Cooke at the 1968 Martin Luther King Parade (formerly known as the 369th Veterans' Parade)  and stated that the Warriors would have the honor of being the only group to carry this distinguished flag. The Warriors carried the flag during the entire 1968 season and at the conclusion of the season, returned it to Mrs. Coretta Scott King.
